I know him....

So any of ya'll out there American Idol fans? This is Chris Sligh. Chris and I went to school at BJ together and we also worked on the same team at the Wilds summer of 2000. He's a pretty cool guy! We'll see what happens, but hopefully he will have all of your vote when the time comes! Thanks!

Baby News....

Went to the doctor today. Everything is going well. My blood pressure was high, but I think it was because I was running late and with Noah being sick, we havent exactly been getting alot of sleep at night. So, they took it towards the end of the appointment and it was back down. When the doctor went to listen to the baby's hearbeart, he kept kicking the doppler. It took a while to get a consistent rate because either she or I were laughing, or the baby was kicking the machine. It was funny. He did NOT like that on his momma's tummy! We talked again about a section or a VBAC and decided to go ahead and schedule the section. No date yet, but I will be sure to let you all know, so you can send gifts!!! Ha!! Poundage is escalating. Grand total is 16lbs. I can blame at least a couple pounds of that on baby. He's almost 2 1/2 lbs...

The swing is another story. I had posted on Craigslist that I was looking for one, and recieved a reply on Sat about one in Raleigh for $30!!!! We needed something to put the baby in, instead of just putting him on the floor. (We think Noah would pounce him, who knows if this will stop him) It retails for $140 and this was only used a couple of times, the baby who had it before didnt like it. Lucky us!!! Noah is just trying it out and getting it all ready for the baby. What a nice big brother!!!

Noah is on the mend. He still isn't 100% and spike another fever last night of about 103.4, but after meds today, the fever hasnt come back. He's developed a bad cough and when I say "stop coughing" he coughs more because he thinks it is funny. Hopefully we'll have our little guy back up to speed soon. I guess there is alot of junk going around, and he got hit pretty hard. So far, healthy mommy (knock on wood!)

Josh's Truck.....

Before: Seat out, Primer down

After: Carpet laid.
Not bad huh? Josh's mom and dad came down this past weekend. Josh and his dad were going to tackle the job of laying carpet down in his truck. Josh found the carpet at LOWE'S for a GREAT deal! It was the end of a roll, so the guy just pracitcally gave it to him. Good timing, I guess. Anyway, the job took about all afternoon, but in the end, both were pretty proud of themselves. I can't help but be proud of them as well. It turned out really really good!

Sit and Spin

I know, it's a pretty boring video, but honestly, this is about as exciting as our day was today. Noah spiked a fever last night of 104, so we spent a couple hours in ER. Turns out he has an ear infection, but nothing a little Bubble Gum Medicine won't cure. He woke up this morning with 103.7 and it scared me a little, but after Motrin and Tylenol all day, his fever finally broke. Poor Baby, this was the only activity he took part in all day.

Some of my favorites....

Josh attempting and succeeding to scare Noah!
Can you believe this guy really wants a kiss from me?
Big Boy!!

About Time for a Noah Update

Noah turned 19 months old today, so I thought it would be a good idea to update ya'll on his progression. As you can see from the picture, the boy has got some choppers! Pretty sure they are all in (Besides his 2 year molars). He is talking more and more each day. He still loves to tell everybody when there is a ball in sight. In fact, it doesnt have to be a ball, but anything circular. "BALL!!!!!!" He LOVES to play outside, read books, and play with all his toys (we are currently working on putting our toys away once we are done playing with them). Like any boy he loves to destroy! He thinks it's just hilarious to knock over the blocks or anything for that matter. Mom and Dad build the tower and in comes Noazilla, destroying it. He climbs everything and has mastered hanging onto the countertop and using his bare feet to climb up the cabinets onto the counter. Totally freaked me out when I walked in and he was sitting there next to the sink!!! He loves Blues Clues and whenever Steve finds a clue he runs to wherever I am and yells "CLUE CLUE CLUE" then takes my hand and shows me the TV. He is a typical picky eater as most toddlers are, but still loves his fruit. Especially bananas and grapes. He is over 30 lbs., yeah he's a tub, nad I have no idea how tall he is. We'll find out at his next Dr Appointment. He loves to lift up my shirt and "kiss the baby". Doesnt matter where we are, if he hears the word Baby, it triggers his kisses. Cute..embarassing...but cute.

That's all. Next Appointment is the 29th, so I'll let you know what happens!

Seriously, he did it!

AHHHH!!! What am I going to do with this boy?!?!

My Sickly Boys...

There is a nasty bug going around and Josh caught it. He's been down for almost 3 days now. He is starting to feel better but still isn't quite 100%. Noah stepped up to the plate and took care of daddy. He even shared the couch with daddy and let daddy watch his shows. Wasn't that nice of him :-) We thought Noah was catching it, but he's fine, he just wanted to snuggle with his Daddy.

The Little Climber!

I still don't know how he got in there, but yesterday I went to check on Noah because he was taking a nap (supposedly) and here is where I found him. Earlier that day he was in his room watching Toy Story and I walked in and found him standing on his changing table turning the light on and off. You know, I have heard mothers talk of their children sitting on the refrigerator when they had turn their back for a second. Honestly I never believed them, but these days I am less skeptical......

We were in Orlando!

He didnt' want to get out of the pool!!!!!

Josh and I on City Walk.

We didnt go in because it was too late, but it was RIGHT there!

We we able to join Josh this past weekend while he recruited in Orlando. It was fun. We left Friday and came back on Monday. Noah and I got to visit our cousin George in Winter Park, while Josh was working on Sat, and then we hung out at the hotel while Josh finished up on Sunday. Noah LOVED the pool and did NOT want to leave. I had to take him back up to the room because his lips were turning blue and he was shivering. Oh well, at least we got to swim. We went down to the City Walk, where Universal and Island of Adventures is, and enojoyed a wonderful dinner at Hard Rock. SOOO GOOD! That's all. Just wanted to let you know where we've been.

My Mechanic!

Well, after being gone for over 2 weeks and not driving the 30 year old truck that sits in our driveway for almost 3 weeks, we returned to find that it wouldn't start. Shocking, I know! We finally got it started (after a new battery) and took it right to the mechanic. Well, after 5 days at the mechanic, they said we needed a new carburator. (Of course all I hear is $$$$$$) So, Josh went to the Auto Store, bought the manual for his truck, talked to a friend, and concluded that he needed to change the starter, clean the carburator we had, and change the selenoid. Yeah, that's all, right. To make a long story short, we picked up the still broken truck (didnt pay a dime), took the truck home and Josh worked on it for about a half hour. His little baby started right up and purred like a kitten! He was pretty proud of himself, and so was I. Luckily he saved us around $200 that we would have paid had the mechanic worked on it. Good job!!!! Love you honey!

Noah's First Wedding!

Well, Noah went to his first wedding on Sat. Okay, so we didnt make the wedding, just the reception. One of Josh's volleyball players had her wedding here in Angier and the reception in Cary. It was beautiful! Noah did an okay job. He wore his new tux and his Nike Shox. He was excited to see all his girlfriends again! Of course he wouldnt sit still for me to get a good picture, but hopefully you get the idea!

What was I thinking?!?!?!

Okay, so there was this Ball Pit on craigslist with 300+ balls for $20. If you have ever priced those little balls that go in pits, $20 for 300+ of them is a GREAT deal. Anyway, the people threw the pit in for free and you paid for the balls. WELL, we get home from picking it up tonight and after blowing up the fire engine ball pit, it measures 5 feet long by 3 1/2 feet tall!! We could ALL fit in it!!!!! Ridiculous! Yeah, we are SOOO not keeping it. We dont have any room for it! Remember we are in a 1100 sq. ft. duplex and the thing is taking up half of the living room AND dining room!
So, I put it back on craigslist for $10 for the pit with no balls, because I thought, "surely, SOMEBODY will have a need for this thing". Well, within 10 minutes I had 3 emails about it! So, it's out of here for $15! Cracks me up how things work sometimes! Anyway, just thought I would share. Oh, of course Noah LOVED the fire engine, but his favorite thing was to throw all the balls out....yeah figures! We will probably just get one of those little blow up pools from Walmart, and it will work just the same. Ha ha, we'll see :-)

Appointment

23 weeks?!? Wow, that is hard to believe. The time has gone by so fast. I was dreading getting on the scale today at the doctor's office. You know, the holidays, baking, eating like you have had nothing but bread and water for 300 days!!!! I was right to dread. 7 POUNDS people! YIKES!!!!! One month, 7 pounds.......brings the grand total to 11 oh well. It's all good, right?! Ha, just kidding. Everything checked out Perfect. The heartbeat was really strong today and seemed fast to me. Doc said he was excited about something, maybe all the pumpkin pie, cookies, and cordial cherries!!! Anyway, next appointment is the 29th and I have to take the glucose test (Yuck!). And after that, I have to go every 2 weeks.... No C-section date scheduled yet. I'll keep you updated!!

How about an update?!?

Well, we are FINALLY back from IN, MI, Greensboro.....sheesh!!! We were gone for over 2 weeks and had a GREAT time with family and friends! Our first stop was in IN. We stayed with the Wickerts and ran around trying to get our car fixed and see friends. We also had the opportunity to meet Harrison Gray, our friends Clayton and Deanne's new baby. He's precious! Only 3 weeks old...... We also got to eat with our friends Stephen, Rachel, and Malachi. Noah loved to play with all of Malachi's toys, and even made himself at home and went into the living room while we were eating and turned on Wheel of Fortune.
We left for MI on Wednesday. Thursday we had lunch with Auntie Brenda and Suzanne! We also got to see Suz's new house, and Noah got to see his buddy Gavin (who just turned 2). After that, we just hung out at home. Watched the entire 5th season of 24, ate, played games, and ate some more! We went to dinner with my friend Sara, her husband Tim, and their little Parker James (just turned 3 months) Christmas Day was great! Noah opened his presents and loved them. He liked the opening part, but didnt get the concept that you keep opening gifts. He wanted to play with whatever he had just opened. Life is so confusing for little people. We also got to see my aunts and uncles on both sides of the family. Many of them hadn't seen Josh since our wedding. We left MI after 10 days and drove to Greensboro to spend the rest of the time with Josh's family.
Oh, almost forgot. The Friday we left was Josh and I's 5th aniversary. WOW!!!! That is hard to believe. We had a romantic lunch outside McDonald's playland somewhere in West Virginia. It was magical :-)

Sorry about the randomness of the pictures, but you get the idea!!! Hope your holiday was full of fond memories and excitement!
