Quick Update....

Well, I have a feeling this might be a little long, so hang on........ I just thought I would update everyone on how it is going. My mom and sister Caroline got here from Chicago on Saturday night. Noah was SOOOOO excited to see them. They didnt get in til 9:30, so we kept him up to see them, and they were glad we did. Noah ran all over the house entertaining everybody. We all got up for church the next morning and enjoyed lunch at Applebees. After a restful Sunday, we went to bed knowing full well the next day would be full and life changing. Josh and I woke up early on Monday and got ready to go to the hospital to have a baby! We had to leave a little early for a stop at the drug store. My toes were horendous! I needed to buy some polish.. anyway, we my surgery was scheduled for 10:30 and we were suppose to get there at 8:30. We pulled in about 8:20, got all checked in, and was in our "get ready" room at exactly 8:30. After a little wait, all the nurses and doctors came in, and told us we could go in early! Yeah! So, by 10:15 I was on the operating table getting my spinal. (that was fun!!!) Within the hour, Jacob came out SCREAMING!!! It was great to hear such powerful lungs, and Joanna (the nurse from our church) brought him around the screen so I could see his precious face! After about a half hour, Josh and I were in the recovery room making our phone calls. Well, I was trying to wiggle my toes, Josh was on the phone. While in recovery, Jacob joined us.....Still screaming. He was a little hungry. After wiggling my toes we were taken to our postpartum room where we would spend the rest of our time. By noon, we were watching Millionaire and Jacob was nursing. It was the most amazing feeling to me. One minute I could feel him kicking and flipping inside me and the next, I was holding him!!!! Oh, by the way. He weighed. 7lbs 8 oz. and was 19 in. long. I was bedridden all of Monday, so Josh stayed the night with me in the hospital to help (there was a pull ou bed there) but up and about on Tuesday. We had visitors Tuesday coming and going, which was nice. My doctor came in on Wednesday morning and said I was healing beautifully and he was going to send me home. YEAH!!! We left right after lunch on Wednesday, which was amazing staying in the hospital 50 hours after a C-section.

My mom has been such a help to us! She basically has taken care of all of Noah's needs and I honestly don't know what I am going to do when she leaves. Noah is loving the baby! He is so funny. If he hears Jacob crying, he will come running and hold his finger over his mouth and say "SHHHHHHH". It's quite hilarious! Oh, and he loves to give the baby his paci. I can't believe he hasn't tried to put it in his mouth yet.

Well, that's about it. I know it's random, but it is an update nonetheless. Jacob is doing beautifully at night. Well, so far. He had a little bit of jaundice so we went back to the doc today. His jaundice is almost gone and he is 7 lbs. 4 oz., which is good because when we left the hospital he was under 7 lbs. One thing about the baby is his when he sleeps. As you can see in the pictures, he sticks his tongue out like a little puppy...too cute...

Currently he is laying on grandma's lap sound asleep. She should be packing because she is leaving tomorrow (sniff sniff) but can't seem to put the baby down :-)

Thank you for all the comments! We love you all so much and promise to put up more pics as they are taken!

I can't believe I had to read your blog to actually get an update! I miss you and our daily chats! I hope that you are all doing well and I am glad to hear that Noah is loving his baby. Gavin keeps on talking about JacobIt is so cute. He will randomly come up to me and say, "baby Jacob" and then some jibberish that I can't understand. Its so cute. Love you!

Hey Cuz,
Congrats on that cute little baby. I can't look at him for too long cos I start wanting another one, and I need to take a break for awhile!! I had to laugh about the wiggling the toes part...how freaky is that feeling?! It took me ages to be able to move my legs, yet alone my toes! I know once a nurse came in to check on me and I had to ask her to fix my legs back to the way they were, hehe. Yeh, can't say I like that paralyzed feeling too much. Anyways, enjoy your boys. I know you feel overwhelmed with having 2, but you will get into the groove in no time!!
